Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet saved four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
